Telehealth Consent
Effective: 26 April 2026
Placeholder copy. Replace with a final consent form reviewed by your Australian healthcare lawyer and clinical governance lead before launch.
1. What telehealth means
Telehealth is the delivery of clinical care via secure video, voice, or asynchronous messaging — instead of an in-person appointment. Your treating PepTribe doctor is an Australian-registered medical practitioner, and your telehealth consultation has the same legal status as an in-person consultation.
2. Benefits
- Convenient access to a doctor without travel or time off work
- Reduced wait times compared with traditional GP appointments
- Continuity of care via the patient portal
- Privacy and discretion
3. Limitations
Telehealth is not appropriate for every clinical situation. Where your doctor determines that an in-person assessment is required, they will decline to consult via telehealth and recommend you see your GP or attend an in-person clinic.
Telehealth consultations cannot perform physical examinations, injections, or any procedure requiring in-person contact.
4. Risks
- Technical issues may interrupt or end your consultation early
- Some clinical conditions may be missed or under-assessed without in-person examination
- Despite our security controls, no electronic communication is 100% secure
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete, and current health information
- Disclose all medications, allergies, and existing conditions
- Be in a private, well-lit location for video consultations
- Contact your GP or call 000 in any medical emergency — telehealth is not for emergencies
6. Your consent
By proceeding with a telehealth consultation through PepTribe you confirm that you understand and accept the benefits, limitations, and risks above; that you have provided accurate information; and that you consent to your treating doctor reviewing your intake and delivering care via telehealth.
7. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal will not affect any care already delivered, and we will retain your records as required by law.
8. Emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 000. PepTribe is not an emergency service. If you are in distress contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
